Get Fit Runs on hold until after Travel Companion Competitions Launch

In just over an hour, I should be rushing off to the Manchester Regional Athletics Arena where I’ll run somewhere between 3 and 5km in a bid to get fit ahead of the 7 Wonders in 7 Days trip later in the year.

I’m not doing that today.  In fact, I’m not going to be doing that for about a month.

I’m putting the runs on hold until after the much anticipated 7 Wonders in 7 Days Travel Companion Competitions launch at the end of this month.

The plan is to take the wraps off how you could join 7 lucky people who each win a 3 day holiday to one of the new 7 wonders of the world whilst I’m on the high speed dash around the globe in October.

The new 7 wonders of the world are:

Chichen Itza, Mexico
Christ the Redeemer, Brazil
Colosseum, Rome, Italy
Great Wall of China, Republic of China
Machu Picchu, Cuzco, Peru
Petra, Jordan
Taj Mahal, Agra, India

To be the first to know, join the mailing list.

I’m expanding the operational team behind 7 Wonders in 7 Days to cope with all that needs to be done to manage the competitions.  However, I still need to manage most of the organising that needs to be done at this critical stage to get the competitions off the ground.  There’s lots of loose ends to tie up with securing sponsorship, liaising with the 7 charities, dealing with the press, the list goes on…!

There is a project plan, one just needs to focus on implementing it. Consequently, the Get Fit Runs, as fun as they were have to be put on the back burner for a while.

Speaking of expanding the team, have you read the first blog post from our new social media intern, Fraser McIntosh? Pretty good for someone who has ‘probably the best potwasher on Twitter’ in his Twitter biog!

So… I’m signing off this relatively short blog post to say you should see more posts, tweets, YouTube and Facebook activity from 7 Wonders in 7 Days this month, not just from myself but also from Fraser and all the lovely folk helping to make 7 Wonders in 7 Days a reality behind the scenes.

It’s been a tough slog to keep focused on planning this mammoth project when work often takes precedence but by the grace of God, I’m managing to stay motivated.

Have a fab weekend whatever you’re up to and see you soon with some exciting news!
