Calling all graphic designers.
Can you design the 7 Wonders In 7 Days Official T-Shirt?
Here’s the deal. I’m offering one lucky graphic designer the opportunity to design the official t-shirt for the 7 Wonders in 7 Days project. It will be sold on CafePress, the online market place for user-customised merchandise.
It’s the t-shirt I’ll be wearing at each of the new 7 Wonders of the world when I set off in September.
I will also be touring the UK to raise funds for the campaign through a number of crowd sourced concerts on Twitter and I’ll be selling as many as I can at each event.
This is no ordinary T-shirt design contest.
Prize for the winning design:
£50 and a business opportunity.
In these tight economic times, I’m aware that 7 Wonders in 7 Days is essentially asking everyday people to fund a charity round-the-world trip. For that reason, I want to use it as a platform to help as many freelancers and small creative businesses as I can.
In addition to a cash prize of £50, 50% of profits from the sale of each T-Shirt will be split with the winning designer.
The other half goes to the Trip Fund for 7 Wonders in 7 Days. Based on figures provided by travel agents Thomas Cook a few weeks ago, the trip budget has been set at £7000 and I need to raise that amount to even start.
Note that only a limited number of t-shirts will be made in the first instance.
Design Assets:

The design assets for this competition is the 7 Wonders in 7 Days logo, written in the Curlz font.
Design Requirements:
These are based on the requirements for the fantastic WooTees contest.
Wants
- The 7 Wonders in 7 Days logo (written in Curlz font) must be incorporated into the template provided in the t-shirt design pack.
- You will need to include the following strapline on the t-shirt design:
- “Are you following 7 Wonders in 7 Days? I am.”
- The design must have a maximum of 7 colours – we find that 3-5 colour designs look best.
- The design must be produced in photoshop, illustrator, freehand or coreldraw format.
- You can only design on the FRONT of the t-shirt and your design must not touch the hems, collars or sleeves.
- The design must be of a maximum size of 38 X 50 cm – the standard screenprinting size.
- If the design is created in Photoshop a resolution of 300dpi must be used.
- A vector based design is preferred as it produces the cleanest lines for printing. If your design is very tonal though it can be done in Photoshop.
Don’t Wants
- No stock imagery in the t-shirt design!
- No cheesy microsoft office stationery!
- No copyright materials.
- No company names, personal names, signatures, email addresses or urls allowed on your design. Don’t worry though you will receive full credit on the 7 Wonders in 7 Days website and blog if you are the winner.
Please make your graphic memorable; the winning design will also be used as a badge for blogs.
How to Enter:
- Download the t-shirt design pack (based on the one used in the WooTees contest)
- Design t-shirt
- Upload a picture of your design to the 7 Wonders in 7 Days T-Shirt Competition Group pool on Flickr.
Deadline: 12 noon Friday 5th June
I will pick a winner on Friday 5th June. Winner will be announced at 2pm on the 7 Wonders in 7 Days website.
That’s it! Any questions, comments or queries, post them in the comments.
Thanks in advance for your wonderful entries! Best of luck.
