Anthony and Victoria once again ascertained the answer for fun, but the drama came at the eleventh hour when Chris disturbed the evening quiet to become our final qualifier. All three correctly asserted that VIK – YoungMindsUK’s newest initiative – is an acronym for ‘Very Important Kids’.

A word on the VIK project now; the initiative has been highly successful for the young persons’ charity to-date: The group has appeared on TV, radio, attended and contributed to parliamentary discussions, and spoken at national conferences. In November, the group, as a result of their outstanding work, won the DSC Social Change Award and were among the three shortlisted finalists for a Young Partners Award earlier this month. As for our project and our continuing search for our final traveling companion, we will be resuming the competition in the New Year. We know you’re all very eager to get involved, but we we’re similarly aware that a hectic Christmas period is just around the corner for many of you.

Its last orders at the bar and that can mean only one thing for our Pub Quiz. It is time for our seventh and final question!

The final question is all about Young Minds UK (@YoungMindsUK). Young Minds is Britain’s only charity dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

VIK is a representative group of young people who have been specially chosen to advise the charity on its campaigns and goals by traveling across the country to meet with politicians and policy makers.

The Open Doors charity was the subject of our fourth Pub Quiz question. The charity – which has recently presented a petition to the United Nations – has its roots in Bible smuggling; but it has now become a worldwide missionary, serving Christians across the globe. What we wanted to know was, back in the charity’s Bible smuggling infancy, what vintage vehicle was used as transportation on Brother Andrew’s first mission?

The answer, of course, was the unmistakable Volkswagen Beetle.

Proclaiming the correct answer the quickest was Anthony (@WarriorAntz13), who speedily tweeted us via his iPhone. Coming second, and also passing through to the next round, was Victoria (@LilVik). As you’ll recall, Victoria narrowly missed out yesterday, but her perseverance has definitely paid off!

Firstly, thank you to all who entered yesterday. Monday pub quizzes can often suffer from the weekend’s hangover, however, we still managed to put two more names through to the next round.

Yesterday’s question concerned Feed The Minds, a charity fighting poverty through improving education in the developing world. Through its research, the charity has estimated that there are over 860 million illiterate adults worldwide. What we wanted to know, however, was what proportion of those adults are women?
