About Chi-chi

Chi-chi Ekweozor My name is Chi-chi Ekweozor and I’m an entrepreneur with interests in music and social media!   I live and work in Manchester, UK where I run Real Fresh TV, an Internet TV and social media consultancy I started in April 2006.  You can learn more about my journey as an entrepreneur here.

Running Real Fresh TV over the last three years has been a slog!  There have been some great times though and I’m lucky to count great companies like T-Mobile, PUMA, Arts Council England, Manchester Digital Development Agency, Publicis QMP, KEO films, iknow UK and quite a few others as clients.

I have a background in making music: whilst studying Electronic and Communication Engineering at the University of York I wrote, recorded and produced an EP you can buy on iTunes!

I’ve performed on the indie circuit in Manchester for a number of years, playing guitar and singing under the name ‘This is Chichi’. You can listen to my musical output on MySpace.

Alongside a desire to help my parents start a foundation in memory of my late grandmother, 7 Wonders In 7 Days was inspired by great online travel tales like One Red Paperclip, Where The Hell Is Matt? and most recently, Twitchhiker, the fantastic Twitter-powered adventure.

My overarching goal with 7 Wonders In 7 Days is to prove the viability of fundraising significant amounts of money using social media.

The 7 charities I have chosen to raise money for are all close to my heart.  They are:

Alzheimer’s Research Trust
Diabetes UK
Open Doors
Young Minds
Victory Outreach Manchester
Feed The Minds
Sport Relief 2010

The plan is to use this trip to raise the profile of a foundation for education dedicated to the memory of my amazing grandmother which I am starting with my parents.

The Jessie Ekweozor Memorial Foundation is being created to do charitable work with disadvantaged young people both in the UK and in the Nigerian village where my grandmother lived most of her life.

The fundraising target of £777,000 came about after I was inspired by Phil Packer’s audacious £1 million fundraising target for Help For Heroes which he is so close to achieving.

I hope to run 7 Wonders in 7 days with the same passion and zest for life imparted to me my saviour and friend, Jesus Christ.
