7 Wonders of Britain

How We Found the 7 Wonders of Britain
Throughout February 2011, we ran a poll to find the 7 Wonders of Britain and were overwhelmed by the response!
1,465 people cast their vote selecting the final 7 Wonders of Britain from a list of cultural landmarks that included the Houses of Parliament, Blackpool Tower, the Angel of the North and Edinburgh Castle.
Stonehenge, the Neolithic era relic was the only British sight to be entered for consideration by the 7 Wonders panel that put together the worldwide poll for the new 7 Wonders of the World.
On that basis, we felt that it would be impossible not to include the site on the ‘official’ 7 Wonders of Britain list.
To add an international dimension to things, we’ve twinned each Wonder of Britain with one of the new 7 Wonders of the world. We will be asking our community to help as we explore the similarities and differences between each twinned destination for the duration of the 7 Wonders in 7 Days project.

7 Wonders of Britain Tour
We planned a tour to visit all 7 Wonders of Britain in the late spring, as part of our search for a Flight Buddy to join project founder Chi-chi Ekweozor on the 7 Wonders in 7 Days charity fundraising adventure.
During the twitch-hike which started on 3 May 2011, Chi-chi relied solely on the kindness of Twitter and Facebook users to get her from Manchester where she lives, to the 7 Wonders of Britain and back!
The 7 Wonders of Britain Tour was completed on 20th May! Here’s what happened.
