This long awaited blog post has been two months in the making!
First, welcome to the new look 7 Wonders in 7 Days website. The site has had a refresh to accommodate all the new announcements coming up. I’m very excited!
Those of you who are following the 7 Wonders in 7 Days Twitter account will be aware that I’ve spent the last 2 months meeting all the 7 charities I’m fundraising for through the project.
The 7 Charities are:
Alzheimer’s Research Trust | Diabetes UK | Open Doors | British Red Cross | In support of Sport Relief 2010 | Feed The Minds | Young Minds
Because of this and lots of work commitments I haven’t been able to blog as much as I’d like. Sincere apologies for the silence.
Anyway….
We’ve got a number of very exciting developments over the next few months. You should hear lots more about 7 Wonders in 7 Days both online and in the mainstream press.
Firstly, I’m delighted to announce I’ve joined forces with Sport Relief to organise an exciting fortnightly Mile run in Manchester. Sport Relief happens over 19- 21 March 2010 with a number of mass participation running events happening around the country.
I’m organising a fortnightly Mile run in Manchester to give Manchester Milers an opportunity to get fit for the big running extravaganza in March.
The first event takes place on Saturday 27th February 2010, from 2pm – 4pm at the indoor running track at the Manchester Regional Arena in Sport City.
Although I played football on my women’s football team at York University and was a member of the Women’s FA whilst signed to Harlow Town Ladies FC during my placement year at university, I’m not the biggest fan of long distance running.
However, I’ve decided to get fit and raise money for Sport Relief over the next two months by organising and participating in these Mile run at my local indoor athletics running track, home to such esteemed sporting activity as the Paralympics World Cup and the 2010 British National Squash Championships.
Over those two hours all running enthusiasts, novice or experienced are invited to join me!
To take part, please make a donation of £5 or more to Sport Relief and the other 6 charities I am fundraising for through 7 Wonders in 7 Days on our Virgin Money Giving page.
UPDATE: I’ve moved all the sign up information to a separate blog post.
Sign up to join me at Sport City on 27th February!
